Course Options
Choir
Students interested in vocal music find ample opportunities to become involved at Hill-Murray. The choral music program in the high school (grades 9-12) focuses on vocal technique, musicianship, reading skills, and performance practice.
Students who choose choir in high school perform throughout the year at school Masses, concerts at Hill-Murray and in venues outside of the school; during concert trips in-state, and at other events/performances.

Concert Choir (full year)
Concert Choir stresses a high level of musicianship including vocal technique and sight-reading. Emphasis
is placed on learning and performing vocal music literature representing all major musical periods. Learning takes place in daily large group rehearsals as well as sectionals and individual sessions. Attendance at school concerts, contests and musical festivals is required.
Choral Music (Chamber Singers) (full year)
Audition Required
Chamber singers is designed for the advanced vocal student. Students will develop advanced skills by incorporating a wide range of musical concepts, musical styles, choral elements, and through performance practice. This choral group will perform several concerts throughout the year, including area music festivals and contests. Attendance at all performances is required. Auditions for the ensemble will take place in the spring and early summer of the year. Students should contact the Hill-Murray School Vocal Music Director at 651-748-2443 for audition information.
