Breakfast Book Club

From The Kite Runner and The Glass Castle to Chasing Tail Lights and a dozen other titles, the Breakfast Book Club feasts on an eclectic range of literature.  The BBC is an ideal cocurricular activity for both someone just becoming excited about great literature and the avid reader who consumes every new bestseller.  It's everyone's chance to offer their ideas about a book, and to listen to what others have gleaned from what they've read.  And, all of this with bagels or another breakfast treat.

Open to all grades, the Breakfast Book Club could be just what you need to get your brain functioning at quantum speed, right away in the morning.

This year we will be reading:

First quarter, October 9, 2009: Stalking Susan by Julie Kramer.  Ms. Kramer will join us, so have your questions ready for her.

Second quarter, January 8, 2010: City of Thieves by David Benioff.

Third quarter, March 5, 2010: The Dragons of Babel by Michael Swanwich (for Middle School) and Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis (for High School).

Fourth quarter, May 6, 2010: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.
