The Pioneer Alpine Ski teams (boys and girls) compete in the highly competitive Classic Suburban Conference, skiing against St. Thomas Academy, Richfield, and Mahtomedi. The boys and girls team will compete in 6-7 meets, including conference meets and the Wild Mountain Invitational and Welch Village Invitational, which are both all-day competitions.
The goals of the Pioneer Alpine Skiing program, in addition to being competitive and winning at the section and state levels, are to help each skiier develop his/her alpine techniques, improve skiing fundamentals and racing skills, and develop life-long friendships. In addition, skiiers have the opportunity to reach the State Tournament level of competition on both an individual and team basis. With those goals in front of the team, each competitor is expected to exemplify the Pioneer ideals of sportsmanship, team support, and using individual athletic talents to reach his/her full potential.
